Pershore Revisited

Pershore People
Describing the lives of some of the people of Pershore’s past. From the Perrott family to cholera victims, the authors have attempted to bring to life the stories behind certain individuals who have become part of the history of Pershore. These include George Mason, who, following the American War of Independence, became a friend of George Washington; Mary Turner, a First Footer, transported to Australia in 1784 for stealing clothes; William Arthur Beach, manager of a jam factory in Pinvin and in more recent times, Barbara Cartland, the well-known romantic novelist who lived for a time in Amerie Court.
