Displays - Furniture - Glove Making
A large glass cabinet containing memorabilia from the famous Pershore Flower Show, including trophies, commemorative plates and programmes. This was by far the biggest festival in the town with Flower and Vegetable Competitions and Sports, which attractedthousands of visitors each year.
In addition, there is an interesting collection of old cameras. The large table has several books for visitors to peruse, which have photographs and articles of local interest.
On the wall, there is a large display of glove-making equipment and samples as well as a glove-making frame.
For many years, Worcester was a major centre for glove-making and vehicles conveyed the glove shapes to Pershore homes, where women hand-sewed them together,on piecework, for very little money, until company sewing machines became available.
